Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder (born Winona Laura Hornowitz) was born in Winona Minnesota. Parents named her Winona after the town she grew up in. Michel Horowitz' father was an editor and writer and editor, as was Cynthia Palmer and her mother. Ryder's mother and father also happen to be Jewish. Ryder believes herself to being Jewish. Ryder has also a half-sister named Sunyata Jubal. Her younger sister is Uria. Ryder moved with her family to Mendocino County California at the age of seven. The family resided in an area without electric power. Ryder would read extensively due to the absence of television. Ryder began taking acting lessons at the American Conservatory Theatre in 1983, when she was 12. Her first role was a success on the big screen in 1986 at the age of 15 old. Ryder was bullied throughout her high school years. Her thought was that by becoming an actor her behaviour was going to be corrected. Sadly, this didn't occur. Still, she kept chasing her dreams. Her breakthrough came with Tim Burton's Beetlejuice in the year 1988. Ryder played successful roles for numerous films. He was nominated for two Academy Awards were nominated, one for The Age of Innocence (1996).
